YOGA

Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self.
— The Bhagavad Gita

Yoga is a really important part of my life. I became interested in the ancient teachings of this tradition in my early 20s and my approach to yoga has shifted, changed, evolved day by day since then. Through yoga I have found resilience, strength and joy.

My teachings are guided by everything I learn and experience in my own practice. Breath and movement are for me, channels to feel present, grounded, centred and ultimately happy and free; and this is what I strive to share with others.

I value many things about this wonderful practice but perhaps the aspect I find most enriching is the focus on learning to listen to my body; and tend to its needs with self-compassion. Yoga has transformed my relationship with my physical body, my heart and my mind, and therefore my whole way of being, outlook on the world and interaction with others.

‘Solidarity Knows No Borders’ Donation-based yoga

My online classes are free of charge. However, while these are difficult and uncertain times for everyone, they are especially difficult for the most vulnerable including refugees and displaced people. So, if you can, I'd like to propose our classes together as an opportunity to recognise this and make a contribution to help. If this is a challenging moment for you please don't feel pressured or expected to do so.

So far, together we have raised and donated over 3000 GBP to Helprefugees.org a charity that supports refugees and displaced people facing extra challenges caused by COVID-19 in overcrowded and unsanitary camps. And to Project MAMA , a small charity providing antenatal, birth and postnatal support for female refugees and asylum-seekers and other displaced women in Bristol. THANK YOU so much to everyone who has contributed so far.

For upcoming classes, we are fundraising for Migrants Organise, a charity that provides a platform where refugees and migrants can organise for power, dignity and justice. They develop leadership and open up spaces for relational, organised participation of migrants and refugees in public life.
